The Prime Minister of Moldova, Oleksandr Munteanu, during a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Yulia Svyridenko, announced the arrival of a new package of humanitarian aid to Kyiv.
Ukrinform writes about this.
The cargo, formed from Moldova’s state reserves, includes power generators, fire trucks, medical supplies and food. This support is aimed at overcoming the consequences of the energy crisis caused by the Russian Federation’s constant attacks on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.
In addition to technical assistance, Moldova confirmed its solidarity in the political and legal spheres. In particular, the country’s government supports the establishment of a Special International Tribunal on Russian aggression and actively cooperates in the issue of the repatriation of forcibly displaced Ukrainian children. Muntianu emphasized that children cannot be a tool of war, and assured of Moldova’s readiness to continue providing security and access to education for more than 130,000 Ukrainians who are currently on the territory of the republic.
Logistics and cargo delivery were provided by the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova. During the negotiations, the possibilities of expanding cooperation in the energy sector were also discussed, including increasing the volume of Moldovan gas storage in Ukrainian underground storage facilities. Such a step should strengthen regional energy security and reduce dependence on the aggressor’s energy resources.
As a reminder, the first French generators will arrive in Ukraine – 13 units from the promised batch of 150.
Also, 300 generators were sent to Ukraine by the Cooperation Initiative in South-Eastern Europe.
