First of all, the problem in Ukraine is not with people, but with a lack of weapons, the deputy noted.
“During the three years of the war, we had so many delays with weapons, delays in granting us permission to strike on the territory of the Russian Federation. All this cost us a huge number of human lives of experienced people… And now to shift the blame for the fact that something is missing somewhere, on 18-year-olds, it seems to me, is somewhat wrong,” he said.
At the same time, the People’s Deputy added that, first of all, the problem in Ukraine is not with people, but with a lack of weapons.
“Because we don’t always have the opportunity to arm those people that we currently recruit without 18-year-olds. And when we have a situation where there are four formed brigades, but they are unarmed, and we cannot use them… this the issue is more about the supply of weapons. There is also a problem with people, but primarily with weapons. As practice shows, we can and do form new brigades, but, unfortunately, we cannot use them,” Chernev emphasized.
Mobilization in Ukraine – will 18-year-olds be called up?It will be recalled that earlier the US President’s National Security Adviser Mike Waltz emphasized the need to lower the mobilization age in Ukraine to 18 years.
Oleksandr Fedienko, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, stated that there are no relevant legislative initiatives in Ukraine today. In his opinion, the mobilization of 18-year-olds will not improve the situation at the front.
