In September 2025, Ukraine plans to start exhumation work in Poland. Andriy Nadzos, Deputy Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications, announced this in an interview with Ukrinform.

“The Ukrainian side is preparing for such works in the territory of Poland – in the village of Yurechkova. We plan to prepare there in mid -August, and in September – to start excavations. We want to have time before the start of the rainy season, ”he said.

According to the Deputy Minister, in December Ukraine and Poland exchanged lists of possible places for exhumation work: the Poles gave 13 locations, Ukrainians – 4.

In Lviv, the Ukrainian-Polish group of specialists is currently conducting search and exhumation work in the territory of the former cemetery. This is the second place where such work is ongoing.

In April, exhumation works were carried out in the Livings in the Old Cemetery, where the Poles were buried, which were killed on the night of February 12 to February 13, 1945.
