This could be done by the Russians intentionally to increase the number of bodies transmitted and download the work of our experts, supplementing all this with cynical information pressure. And maybe they are familiar to them with their own people. In any case, we also identify these bodies, ”Klimenko wrote in a telegram.
According to the minister, each examination is conducted “carefully and more than once”.
“The experts are prepared, the laboratories are equipped, the processes are worked out. The biggest challenge is time. We understand the pain and expectations of families. We accelerate the identification process as much as possible. But with every major repatriation, it becomes more difficult, and perhaps it is the purpose of Russia, ”he said.
According to the results of the negotiations in Istanbul, the Russian side stated that it will unilaterally hand over the bodies of six thousand dead soldiers to Ukraine, and that it was ready to accept from Ukraine the bodies of the Russian military were not called their number. On June 16, Ukraine was returned to Ukraine as early as 1245 bodies, which, according to the Russian side, belong to Ukrainian citizens, including military personnel, said the coordination headquarters on prisoners of war.
It is reported that today the final stage of repatriation measures, carried out in accordance with Istanbul arrangements, has received 6057 bodies in total. Examination and identification of repatrified bodies will now be conducted.
The head of the Russian delegation at Istanbul negotiations, Vladimir Medinsky stated that Russia had transferred 78 bodies of its dead military. Earlier, 27 bodies were reported. The Ukrainian side did not call the number of bodies transferred to Russia.
The Russian side assures that she has identified the bodies transferred to Ukraine and is convinced that bodies belong to the Ukrainian military.
Also last week there were exchanges of prisoners of war, according to the agreements reached in Istanbul.
