At the 2025 Junior World Championship, which takes place in the Swedish Estersundi, Ukrainian biathlete Alexander Merkushin won a bronze medal in a mass -starting race for 60 participants.

At the first shooting, a 20-year-old Ukrainian earned two circles of a fine, but did not lower her hands and worked the rest of the race well, making it possible to finish the third.

By the way, last year in the same discipline, Alexander Merkushin won the Gold Medal of the Junior World Cup in the U-19 category. This time, she competed in the age of 21.

The Gold Medal was won by Sweden Sarah Anderson, and the French representative of France became the French World Vice -Trek.

As for other Ukrainian women, Xenia Prikhodko with three misses in Passiv finished 9th, and Olena Gorodna and Tatiana Tarasyuk showed results outside the leading ten.

It should be noted that for the national team of Ukraine, Bronze Merkushina is the first award at the Junior World Cup 2025. Before that, the best performance of Ukrainians was 5th place in a junior mixed relay.
