Police in Amsterdam arrested 57 people after a large-scale attack on Israeli soccer fans at a match between Ajax and Maccabi, as a result of which at least ten people were injured, writes the Reuters agency on Friday, November 8.

According to Dutch police, pro-Palestinian demonstrators tried to get to the Johan Cruyff stadium, even though the city banned them from holding protests there.

Videos appeared online showing mobs running through the streets and brutally beating men. Some of the attackers were wearing masks, shouting Free Palestine and forcing the Israelis to repeat after them.

The executions show how the victims are left lying on the ground after the attack. Also, footage of passports allegedly stolen from Israelis appeared online.

In total, about ten injured Israeli citizens are known. Three more people are considered missing, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands reported, writes the Times of Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the immediate dispatch of two rescue planes to Amsterdam after extremely brutal incident” directed against Israeli citizens.

Israel’s Ministry of National Security urged citizens of the Dutch city to stay in their hotel rooms after the attacks.

The attacks on Israeli citizens took place after a soccer match in which Ajax Amsterdam, traditionally considered a Jewish club, beat Maccabi Tel Aviv 5-0. The police reported that the fans left the stadium peacefully, but clashes broke out in the city during the night.
