US intelligence reports continue to warn that Russian ruler Vladimir Putin intends to take over all of Ukraine and reclaim parts of Europe that belonged to the former Soviet empire.

Source: this was reported by “European Truth” with reference to Reuters, six sources said

Details: These reports paint a starkly different picture from the one painted by US President Donald Trump and his Ukraine peace negotiators, who say Putin wants to end the conflict. According to one of the sources, the most recent of these reports dates from the end of September.

The intelligence also contradicts the Russian leader’s denials that he is not a threat to Europe.

The US conclusions have been unchanged since Putin’s full-scale invasion began in 2022. According to sources, they largely coincide with the opinion of European leaders and intelligence agencies that he seeks to take over all of Ukraine and the territories of the former Soviet republics, including NATO members.

“The intelligence has always said that Putin wants more,” Mike Quigley, a Democratic member of the House Intelligence Committee, told Reuters in an interview. “The Europeans are convinced of this. The Poles are absolutely convinced of this. The Baltic countries believe that they are the first,” he said.

“The president’s team has made significant progress on ending the war,” and Trump said a peace deal is “closer than ever before,” a White House official said, without commenting on the intelligence.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Friday that the U.S. has “made significant progress” in talks on Ukraine, but warned that “there is still a long way to go.”

It was reported that the representative of the head of the Kremlin, Kirill Dmitriev, will visit Miami on December 20-21 to hold talks with the representative of the American president, Steve Witkoff, and Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, regarding the US “peace plan”.

The Secretary of the NSDC, Rustem Umyerov, said that on December 19, he and the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Andriy Hnatov, are starting another round of consultations with the American side.
