According to sources, customs officials across the country are detaining individual cargoes at the request of FCC. Some Bitmain miners have already spent two months in port warehouses, their customers will have to pay separately for equipment storage.
According to Blockspace, Customs did not provide additional information about the reasons and timing of the delays, citing the FCC. The representative of the Commission replied to the publication that they do not know about such a request.
One of the affected companies allegedly hired lawyers to get more information from government agencies.
Industry representatives noted that problems with importing equipment into the US arose only at Bitmain. According to them, other manufacturers of mining equipment were not affected.
Such delays are rare in the US mining industry. Blockspace sources suggest that this is due to one of the chips on the control board in some Antminer models.
We are talking about CV1835 from the Chinese company Sophgo. US authorities suspected the supplier of violating sanctions when its chip was found in a Huawei device that was subject to restrictions.
We will remind you that in October, Bitmain supplemented the line of Antminer S21 miners with two new devices.
