Details: Trump said that there are several reasons in the introduction of tariffs for the import of goods from Canada and Mexico: the first is migrants who are illegally hit and are in the country, the second – drugs, the third – huge subsidies that the USA provides Canada and Mexico “in the form of a shortage” .
Trump noted that the rise in tariffs by 25% may be minimal, saying that their level “may increase, and may not grow over time.”
But the US President suggested that he is still considering the release of one significant import from duties – oil. Trump said he would make a decision on Thursday evening, based on the price of oil.
Trump also noted that he would continue to set tariffs for goods from China. He did not specify the amount of duty, although he said earlier that it would be 10%. Trump stated that Beijing failed to prevent the US to prevent fentanyl and chemicals used to make fatal drugs.
Recall: Trump plans to make additional duties all imports of steel, aluminum and copper, as well as the supply of foreign computer chips, semiconductor components and drugs.
Trump said he planned to introduce previously announced duties up to 25% for products from Mexico and Canada before February 1.
Donald Trump has expanded its customs threats, including China and the European Union on the second day of their stay in office after Canada and Mexico were hit by his sight.
