“Officially neither the President’s Office nor the Elisha Palace of these negotiation”, – WRITE: www.radiosvoboda.org
Officially, the President’s office nor the Elysee Palace is notified of these negotiations.
On the evening of July 1, it became known about the first telephone conversation of French President Emmanuel Macron and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to the Elysee Palace, Macron urged Putin to agree on the ceasefire in Ukraine “as soon as possible”, and “emphasized the adamant support of France with France’s sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.”
The Kremlin declared Putin’s “meaningful” telephone conversation with Macron. According to the conversation, Putin stated that “the Ukrainian conflict is a direct consequence of the policy of the Western powers”, and in the context of the prospect of peaceful settlement, Putin again declared “elimination of the root causes of the Ukrainian crisis” and “new territorial realities”.
On the eve of the US Presidential Representative for Ukraine, Kit Kelloggus called on the Russian Federation for immediate ceasefire and transition to trilateral negotiations to end the war. He added that Russia “cannot continue to delay, bombarding civilian goals in Ukraine.”
Instead, the Kremlin denies that Moscow is inhibiting peace talks.
The American Institute for the Study of the ISW war has repeatedly emphasized that Russia is promoting the requirements equivalent to Ukraine’s full surrender, and that the Russian Federation will continue to promote this purpose as long as Putin believes that he could win in Ukraine. To change this, analysts say, Ukraine’s further support is needed by the West, including the United States.
ISW also stated that Russia is trying to delay peace talks to end the war against Ukraine in order to continue the promotion on the battlefield and to obtain further concessions.
Peskov in an interview with the British TV company Sky News, published on June 20, stated that Russia did not intend to lay a truce with Ukraine, as it was offered, in particular the United States because it has a “strategic advantage” in the war.
