Two people were detained by weekends, the third – on Tuesday. Arrests took place in Constantine, Cologne and Switzerland.
The suspects are Ukrainians Vladislav T., Danilo B. and Eugene B., they are charged with “agent activity for the purpose of diversion”. They allegedly agreed to make a “arson with aggravating circumstances” and arrange an explosion of explosive devices on the order of Russian special services.
Investigators believe that the suspects have already started preparing for the order by sending test parcels with GPS trackers to addresses in Ukraine. Eugene allegedly bought trackers in Switzerland and sent Daniel to Constanta, and he took them to Cologne, from where Vladislav organized a postal departure to Ukraine – to understand how parcels were moving.
However, as they point out, the investigation is at a very early stage.
Recall:
- Earlier, the German media learned that European investigators involved in investigating past incidents with “explosive parcels” believe that they were arranged by Russian special services, and among the recruited performers are Ukrainians.
- Before that, the similar details learned the Reuters agency – the material states that Russian special services are involved in a number of parcel explosions in Europe, and among the recruited performers were Ukrainians.
