“Earlier, Kiev tried in vain to buy Patriot systems in the United States and then turned to the German government,” Bild writes.
After the US has announced the suspension of some weapons to Ukraine, Berlin is afraid that the United States can reject the German request to two Patrio systems, the sources of the publication said.
This issue, according to Bild, was discussed at a German government meeting on Wednesday, during which “it became clear that the canceled weapons from the United States could not be compensated.”
“However, Germany and other allies now want to try to give Ukraine at least Patriot from their own stocks,” Bild adds.
Earlier it was reported that Volodymyr Zelenskyy expects to raise the issue of continuing the supply of weapons and ammunition from the United States in conversation with US President Donald Trump, including PAC-3 missiles for Patriot systems.
The President also stated that Ukraine “at operating levels” clarifies the details of military assistance from the United States after reporting on suspension of delivery.
