The match took place at the home stadium of Renato Dal-Ara. The game ended with a score of 0:0.

After the meeting, the defender of Gornyakov Mykola Matviyenkowho was recognized by the UEFA technical observers as the best player of the match, commented on the result of the match:

– Nikolay, the Champions League is back for Shakhtar. How satisfied are you with the team’s start?

– I can’t say that we are completely satisfied, but if we evaluate the game as a whole, then the result is, perhaps, natural. A 0:0 draw is a good start to the Champions League, although, of course, they really wanted to win.

– What, in your opinion, was not enough for victory? What can you say about the episode with the missed penalty? Did you feel an emotional slump?

– This is the Champions League, there can be no recession here. I think that the weather changed our plans a little, so we had to reorganize in the middle of the match, the game turned out to be nervous. There were also many long transmissions.

– After the match, you received a nice personal award. What does it mean to you and is this the first time you have received such an award?

– I received this award for the first time, and it is very nice. I didn’t expect it, but I sincerely thank everyone for their support. Of course, it is nice to receive such awards, but it would be better if we won.

– It is still too early to predict something, but how do you assess Shakhtar’s chances in this Champions League?

– At the very least, get into the zone of teams that are fighting for the playoffs.
