Markevich named two teams from which he expected more in the Champions League

The famous Ukrainian coach admitted that he was disappointed with the results of PSG and Real Madrid”, — write: sport.ua

Famous Ukrainian coach Myron Markevich in an exclusive interview, Sport.ua named two teams from which he expected more in the Champions League:

– Did it come as a surprise to you that PSG and Real Madrid still have to play additional matches to continue the fight for the main trophy?

– Of course, I expected more from the Paris and Madrid clubs. In the last round, everything was in their hands, but it did not happen as expected. It is especially unfortunate for “Real”, because “Benfica” cannot be called a top team.

Although, for the sake of fairness, it should be said that PSG and Real Madrid have passed compared to last season. This can be explained, in my opinion, by some problems in the middle of these teams.

– Such well-known clubs as Marseille, Napoli, Villarreal, Athletic, Ajax, PSV have already dropped out of the competition for the main prize. Should we expect surprises at the round of 16?

– Anything can happen, although I don’t think that the same PSG or Real Madrid will have any difficulties getting to the next round. Moreover, I am convinced that with the existing selection of performers, they remain the main contenders for winning the honorary trophy, Markevich admitted.

In the last round of the Champions League, which took place on January 28, Real Madrid lost away to Benfica Lisbon with a score of 2:4, while PSG drew 1:1 with Newcastle at home.
