According to the results of the special operation, two agents of the Russian special service were detained who prepared an explosion near the district police department. According to the case file, the persons involved in the law enforcement agencies were disguised as a homemade explosive device in the bag. At the time of the explosion laying, the invaders planned to blow it up by calling a mobile phone that was connected to the SVP. The terrorist attack was to take place when many law enforcement officers were near the police unit and the agents themselves were still near the explosive device
It is noted that in this way they planned to kill the maximum number of police officers and ordinary citizens and at the same time eliminate the executors of the terrorist attack as “unnecessary” witnesses.
Both defendants were detained “on hot” when they tried to install explosives near the police. At the scene, a bag, equipped with SVPs and additional means of hidden observation with remote access function for special services of the Russian Federation was removed from the detainees. The persons were involved in two 19-year-old young people who were looking for “fast” earnings on telegrams
On the basis of the evidence collected, investigators of the Security Service plan to inform the detainees of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 15, Art. 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (completed attempt on a terrorist act). The attackers are in custody. They face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
