The film “Lumina” was recognized as the worst film of 2024 / UNIAN collage, screenshot from the videoMetacritic, one of the most popular movie rating sites, has ranked the worst movies of 2024. The list included tapes whose premieres took place from January to December of this year, which received the lowest ratings.In the rating published on Metacritic, there were 15 films that could have become blockbusters, but were included in the list of outsiders. They failed at the global box office and received the lowest ratings from experts.
The list of the worst films was headed by the tape “Lumina”. The average score of the picture was only six points out of 100. The famous film “Madame Web” from Marvel was on the sixth place with its 26 points, but the best among the worst was the film “Killing Heat”, which scored 33 points.
“Madame Spider”The film tells the story of Cassandra Webb, a paramedic from New York who, after an accident, begins to see the future. She learns that the three girls are in danger from a mysterious stalker. Cassandra tries to use her new powers to protect them. In the process, she discovers the secrets of her past. The tape with Dakota Johnson in the lead role failed loudly at the box office and received many negative comments from fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“Raven”It is a reboot of the 1994 film of the same name, based on the comic book by James O’Barr. The main role is played by Bill Skarsgård, who transformed into Eric Draven. The plot focuses on musician Draven, who sacrifices himself to protect his lover Shelly, then comes back to life with supernatural powers to avenge their deaths. Most critics found “The Crow” meaningless and devoid of emotion.
“Garfield in the movies”The picture tells about the red-haired cat Garfield, who loves lasagna and hates Mondays. After an unexpected encounter with his long-lost father, the street cat Vic, Garfield leaves his carefree life with his dog Odie. They go on a journey full of adventure. Critics did not like this tape. They believe that it was not necessary to turn a well-known story into a completely different picture.
“Borderlands”It is a sci-fi action comedy based on the popular video game series from Gearbox Software. The plot unfolds in the distant future. The main character, Lilith, a bounty hunter, is tasked with finding and returning the missing daughter of an influential businessman. To do this, she assembles a team whose members have different abilities. Together they go to the dangerous planet of Pandora to complete a mission. The film stars Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Jamie Lee Curtis. The tape, which could have become a blockbuster, failed at the box office and was criticized by moviegoers.
“Killing Heat”The events of the picture take place on the island of Crete. The main character, private detective Bali Nick, receives a difficult task: to investigate the death of the heir of a rich and influential family. He is approached by the dead man’s fiancée, who suspects the local policemen of committing a crime. Bali has to enter a dangerous game to find the truth and reveal the hidden motives of the participants in this case. Many reviewers noted that the plot of the film is predictable and does not offer anything new in the thriller genre.
