French President Emmanuel Macron believes that Ukraine is a sovereign state, so Russia should not decide the fate of the placement of a peacekeeping contingent after the end of the war.
He said this in an interview with Le Parisien, published on Saturday, March 15.
According to Macron, the decision remains unchanged – EU countries will not ask permission from Russian dictator Vladimir Putin about the deployment of military in Ukraine. In particular, the possible cities where troops of other countries can accommodate Odesa, Lviv and Kiev.
As for the UK plan, which is almost completed, Macron explained that the goal is not to create mass military forces because the largest army in Europe is the Ukrainian army.
On March 13, it became known that the Prime Minister of Great Britain, Kir Starmer and Macron, negotiate with 37 countries to create a “coalition of those who want” to send peacekeepers to Ukraine.
