The Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Dmytro Lubinets, met with the Russian Commissioner, Tetyana Moskalkova, in Belarus: the parties exchanged lists of prisoners of war visited by both sides, and initiated a new format.

Details: The Ombudsman reports that the meeting took place with the assistance of the Belarusian side, on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, with the participation of the ICRC.
Lubinets outlined the main results:
Direct speech: “The bodies of the dead were repatriated.
Carrying out a humanitarian mission, Ukraine once again helped reunify families. As a result of the negotiations, the 91-year-old woman met with her son. In this way, we show that family reunification is the most important thing and we hope that our communication on this issue will continue.
Lists of prisoners of war visited by both sides were exchanged (Ukraine — Russian prisoners of war in our country, Russia — Ukrainian prisoners of war on its territory).
We exchanged letters. Among them, a new format was introduced: letters from Ukrainian relatives to Ukrainian prisoners of war in the Russian Federation were sent.
He spoke with the leadership of ICRC missions in Ukraine and Russia. He once again insisted on the ICRC’s access to Ukrainian prisoners of war and civilians!
I would like to emphasize that I am interacting with the Russian human rights commissioner to resolve humanitarian issues, return Ukrainians home, and obtain information about our citizens in the Russian Federation.”
