IBF lightweight world champion Vasyl Lomachenko did not make a final decision – there are rumors about the end of the Ukrainian’s career, but the boxer himself did not confirm this.
The manager of the champion, Aegis Klimas, said that the boxer has to undergo a medical examination and only then will he be able to give news about his future.
The International Boxing Federation (IBF) decided not to wait for Lomachenko’s return – organized a fight for the interim world champion title. Russian Zaur Abdulaev (20–1, 12 KOs) and American Raymond Muratalia (22–0, 17 KOs) will meet in the fight for the belt. If Vasyl decides not to return to the ring, the winner of this confrontation will be promoted to full champion.
