The Brit has struggled since leaving MercedesCredit: Getty There, he will be the race engineer for rookie Kai Allen in 2026.

Corte said: “I’m really proud to be joining Grove Racing at such an exciting time for the team.

“The progress they’ve made in recent seasons is impressive, and the Bathurst 1000 win shows what’s possible with the right people and mindset.

“After 11 years at Ferrari F1, I’m looking forward to bringing that experience into Supercars, helping the team keep pushing forward and maximising every opportunity on track.”

Stephen Grove, who owns the group, sees it as a serious coup.

He said: “Riccardo’s appointment represents another major step forward for Grove Racing.

“His 11 years of experience at Ferrari F1 and his work as Lewis Hamilton’s performance engineer earlier this year bring incredible depth and understanding to our program.

“We’re proud to welcome him to the team, and it speaks to the calibre of people we have at Grove Racing.”

Earlier this year, Corte took up a new role at Maranello, shifting into a development position before the subsequent departure.

That came with Riccardo Adami going up to become Hamilton‘s new race engineer.

Corte previously worked as a driver coach for Charles Leclerc and went on to be the performance engineer for Carlos Sainz.

Hamilton’s replacement of Sainz at the start of the year saw Corte operating closely with the seven-time world champion.

After the Belgian Grand Prix in July, Corte stepped down the pecking order and now leaves the Ferrari setup ahead of the Formula One return later this week.

Hamilton heads to Brazil with his team hoping to get a podium finish for the first time since he left Mercedes.

Despite another underwhelming season so far for the 40-year-old, Hamilton did record his joint best finish of the season in USA just three weeks ago.

He is yet to finish higher than fourth and has ended up eighth three times in his last four races.

Ferrari teammate Leclerc is one place up in the drivers rankings, currently occupying fifth spot.

Hamilton is comfortably clear of Kimi Antonelli in seventh but is miles off Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri (both McLaren) at the top.

The Brit has been unable to mount a serious constructors challenge either with Mercedes and Red Bull on Ferrari’s tail in the fight to come second to runaway leaders McLaren.
