LESYUK: “It was very nice to be in the top 10 twice”

Ukrainian biathlete Taras Lesyuk commented on his results at the IBU Cup stages in Obertilliach and Ridnau, where he took tenth place in the sprint and seventh position in the individual race, respectively:

“It was very nice to be in the top 10 twice. Shooting especially helped me, especially in the individual race, where every shot is important. It is very difficult to win back a minute of the penalty at the distance. With good shooting and good speed, it was possible to show the result.

Why did you decide to start the season at the IBU Cup? It was my personal decision with the coach. The circumstances were such that my preparation for the season took place in Switzerland, while the main team – in Scandinavia. Therefore, it was difficult with logistics.”

After a series of successful results at the IBU Cup, Taras Lesyuk was called up to the first team for the World Cup stage in Annecy, France.
