Lenny Kravitz has shared a nightmare encounter with an overzealous fan in Brisbane.

The Always On The Run rocker, 61, is currently Down Under on his Blue Electric Light tour, which saw him play Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Friday night.

However, Lenny got more than he bargained for at the show with one crazed fan going home with a unique memento.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, Lenny revealed that the fan had managed to rip four of his trademark dreadlocks from his head.

He said that the incident occurred when he walked into the crowd to perform his 1989 hit Let Love Rule.

‘Brisbane, that was wild,’ Lenny began the clip.

‘So when I went out for Let Love Rule, a very excited young lady pulled four dreadlocks out of the back of my head.’

The rocker added: ‘You know how hard you’ve got to pull to rip those out of my head? Damn baby!’

Despite the unexpected trim, Lenny said he would not be deterred from interacting with the crowd during the track.

‘I’m not going to stop coming out there for Let Love Rule because that’s our moment together,’ he said.

‘Brisbane you’re wild. I love you.’

One fan, commenting on a recent Instagram post of Lenny’s, said that they felt his pain.

‘I can feel the pain right through me; both physically and emotionally. A big, energetic, and protective hug,’ they wrote.

‘I’d say forgive the woman, because people in their worst hour usually don’t know what they’re doing.’

Unsolicited haircuts notwithstanding, Lenny has been wowing fans on the Down Under tour, already playing to packed houses in Sydney, Newcastle and Brisbane.

The Are You Gonna Go My Way hitmaker will round out the run with shows in Melbourne, Mildura and Adelaide.

The dates celebrate Blue Electric Light, his 12th studio album, while also honouring more than three decades of hits.

Fans can expect a setlist packed with classics including Fly Away, American Woman, It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over, Believe and more.

Insiders say Kravitz has been fine-tuning the show to deliver a full nostalgia trip, with one source hinting that the rocker may even revisit tracks from his 1995 album Circus to mark its 30th anniversary.

That includes the legendary opener Rock and Roll Is Dead, which many diehard fans are hoping to hear live.

This tour marks Kravitz’s first return to Australian stages since 2012.

His inaugural visit was in 1994, making this run a milestone moment for fans who have followed him across five decades, four Grammy wins and nearly 40 million album sales.

He has a huge fanbase in Australia, with his 1993 single Are You Gonna Go My Way? reaching number one on the ARIA charts.
