Legend of Ukrainian tennis! Svitolina won her 100th Grand Slam match

January 16 Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina (WTA 27) defeated Caroline Dolehide (USA, WTA 83) in the 2nd round of the 2025 Australian Open.

For Elina, this victory was 100th at Grand Slam tournaments (43 defeats – 70% win rate). Svitolina is the first Ukrainian woman with so many major victories.

Svitolina won 27 matches at the Australian Open, 29 at Roland Garros, 20 at Wimbledon and 24 at the US Open. Elina is the only Ukrainian tennis player who managed to win at least 20 matches at each of the slams.

For the first time, Elina managed to win at the base of the major in 2013, when in the 1st round of Roland Garros she defeated the Swiss Romina Oprandi.
