After the game, LeBron commented on the decision to make a pass to Hachimura in the final seconds of the game, rather than going to decide the fate of the match by himself:
“Always make the right choice, that’s my principle,” that’s how I was taught to play, and that’s how I’ve played my whole career. There is no room for doubt. When Reeves was double-guarded and the ball passed to me, I knew it was a numbers game. We had a four-on-three advantage, and I tried to pass the ball accurately and in time.”
When asked if he felt anything about ending the series, LeBron replied with a smile:
“Nothing. We won.
You have been with me for eight years, you follow my career, I always make the right choice. It’s automatic – win, lose or draw. Make the right choice and the basketball gods will always pay you back. Whether I can win or lose, that’s how I was raised, and that’s how I’ll always play.”
