Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski reacted to the information that US President Joe Biden allowed Ukraine to use long-range ATACMS missiles to strike deep into Russian territory.

In X (Twitter) he wrote that he connected such a decision with the involvement of the North Korean military in the war, as well as with the massive Russian missile attack on Ukraine on November 17.

As the NYT points out, the weapons will likely be used first against Russian and North Korean forces to protect Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.

The Reuters agency, citing sources, wrote that Ukraine plans to carry out the first long-range attacks in the coming days. Journalist sources added that the first strikes would likely be delivered by ATACMS missiles, which have a range of up to 190 miles. (306 km).

At the same time, the French Le Figaro reported that Great Britain and France also allowed Ukraine to strike deep into Russian territory with SCALP/Storm Shadow missiles, but then changed the text and removed this information from the material.

On November 18, Axios noted that the United States had given Ukraine permission to strike with long-range weapons only in Russia’s Kursk region.
