In Kyiv, the police detained a man for extorting 37,000 dollars for “resolving issues” in the territorial procurement center and the court.

Details: It is reported that in one of the episodes, the perpetrator demanded $2,000 from a Kyivan of draft age in order to influence officials of the TCC and JV in order to enter false information into the “Oberig” register and subsequently remove the “client” from the wanted list. The police documented the transfer of two tranches of the bribe: first 84,000 hryvnias, and later almost 12,000 hryvnias.

In addition, the defendant offered another victim to “settle” a civil dispute in court in favor of the plaintiff. He valued his services at $35,000, saying during a personal meeting that these funds were allegedly intended to influence the employees of one of the Kyiv district courts.

The perpetrator was arrested immediately after receiving the entire amount of the bribe. 35,000 dollars were seized from the scene.

Police investigators informed the suspect of suspicion of bribery and abuse of influence. He faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Currently, the police is trying to identify the full range of persons involved in criminal activity.
