Kyiv returns to scheduled schedules. The Ministry of Energy explained why emergency shutdowns persist in some places

In Kyiv, the electricity supply has been restored for all consumers, the city is returning to planned blackout schedules, Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Mykola Kolisnyk said. “In Kyiv, the energy industry restored electricity supply to 648,000 subscribers within a day. In the Kyiv region, electricity was restored to 313,000 subscribers during the day. Of these, 90,000 were cut off as a result of shelling, another 223,000 – due to difficult weather conditions. As of the evening, about 60,000 consumers remain without electricity,” Kolisnyk said on the air of the national telethon. He explained that after the attacks of the Russian Federation, part of the distribution networks were also damaged – this is why some consumers remain without electricity, they have emergency shutdowns. “At the same time, there may be houses nearby that are powered by energy nodes that remain in operation. Even if a house on the same street may be powered by another power line that is not damaged. Work is now underway to localize these damages and backup reconnection to restored power lines,” he said. Also, after last night’s massive attack, the situation in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast remains difficult – 53,000 subscribers are currently without power. At the same time, over 40,000 consumers have been restored to health during the day thanks to emergency and restoration work. “The most difficult situation continues to be in the front-line and border regions with Russia, in particular in Donetsk region, where due to constant enemy attacks on electricity transmission and distribution networks, emergency shutdowns are forced,” the deputy minister added. Separately, Mykola Kolisnyk noted that the operation of the power system was significantly affected by bad weather. As of 4:00 p.m., due to bad weather, 366 settlements in several regions remained completely or partially without power supply, most of them in Kyiv and Chernihiv regions.”, — write: www.radiosvoboda.org
