During his visit to Italy, the head of Kyiv OVA Ruslan Kravchenko met with representatives of the universities of the Italian region of Tuscany, reports UNN.

“Tuscan universities are popular due to their centuries-old history, high quality of education and innovative approaches to learning. They occupy leading positions in European rankings, offer a wide range of modern study programs and actively cooperate with international academic communities. He initiated the signing of memorandums of partnership between our universities, because it opens up new perspectives for students and teachers,” he said.

There are 3 universities operating in the Kyiv region – Belotserki National Agrarian University, Grigory Skovoroda University in Pereyaslav and Tax University in Irpen. Therefore, they are primarily interested in cooperation with specialized educational institutions.

“We also need to exchange experience with medical educational institutions. Given the challenges of the war, we have to face a large number of injuries and a lack of medical personnel. Another aspect is the implementation of mental health programs. There are 4 medical colleges operating in the Kyiv region and we strive to improve the qualifications of the personnel. Professional personnel the construction sector and the economy also need it, given the significant need for reconstruction,” said the head of the Kyiv OVA.

Kravchenko also met with the Ukrainian community in Tuscany.

“I am grateful to the Italian government for the help and support of our refugees. Today, in the Tuscany region, there are 15,000 people who were forced to leave the country due to Russian aggression. Many of those who are currently outside Ukraine want to return home,” he said.

During the conversation with the community, the head of the Kyiv OVA spoke about the support programs for IDPs implemented in the Kyiv region, about the creation of jobs and housing reconstruction, and the possibility of online education.

“Despite all the difficulties, we are working on returning people home. I appealed to the community to tell the Italians more actively about the situation in Ukraine. So that each of the Italians understands that we can defeat the Russian aggressor only together,” he emphasized.
