After eight o’clock in the morning, local authorities reported that a drone had hit a residential building in the north of the right-bank part of the city, but later there were reports that the fire was not related to an air attack.
“At Obolon, an enemy UAV hit a 16-story residential building at the level of the eighth floor. A fire broke out in one of the apartments. Emergency services are on their way to the scene,” Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klychko said.
Similar information was released by the head of the KMVA, Timur Tkachenko, the authorities did not release additional details, but later Tkachenko indicated that “the fire in the Obolonskyi district is not connected with the attack of the BpLA.”
Local residents report that several explosions were heard in Kyiv.
“In the area of Osokorki (this is the south of the left bank of Kyiv – ed.) air defense is working. The enemy attack on Kyiv continues. Stay in shelters!” – emphasized Klitschko at 8:19.
The Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons – attack UAVs, rockets, anti-aircraft missiles, and anti-aircraft missiles.
The leadership of Russia denies that the Russian army during a full-scale war inflicts targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the cities and villages of Ukraine, killing the civilian population and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.
The Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes of the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are purposeful in nature.
