As a result of shelling in the morning, consumers in the city of Kyiv and seven regions of Ukraine were cut off.

As Deputy Minister of Energy Oleksandr Vʼyazovchenko said at the briefing, residents of Kyiv, Odesa, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Chernihiv and Zaporizhia regions are without electricity.

According to him, emergency and restoration work continues wherever the security situation allows. At the same time, 17 settlements in the Chernihiv and Zakarpattia regions were cut off due to unfavorable weather conditions.

“Currently, hourly blackout schedules are in effect in all regions of Ukraine. Emergency blackouts are used in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. Their duration can be affected by a significant drop in air temperature,” Vyazovchenko emphasized.

The deputy minister added that due to the difficult situation in the energy system caused by shelling, operators of distribution systems in Kyiv and Kyiv region, in Odesa region and in the city of Dnipro are forced to apply network restrictions, and the previously published schedules of hourly outages in these regions are temporarily inactive.

Consumers in the front-line and border regions remain without power in the long term as a result of hostilities. It is there that the situation is currently the most difficult due to constant shelling.

Power outages in Ukraine – the latest newsOn the morning of January 13, emergency power outages were applied throughout the capital and part of Kyiv Oblast due to a difficult situation in the power system. The reason for the rejection of hourly schedules is complex – severe frost and bad weather in the Kyiv region were added to the consequences of the enemy’s missile and drone attack on energy facilities.

Earlier, Prime Minister Yuliya Svyridenko reported that the most difficult situation with light in Ukraine remained in certain districts of Kyiv and on the left bank of Kyiv region, in particular Boryspil and Brovarsky districts.
