The Kyiv Court of Appeal ordered the State Bureau of Investigation to open a case against the former commander of the Joint Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Yuriy Sodol, who was complained about by the chief of staff of the Azov Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine Bohdan Krotevych.

Details: Krotevych said that the court overturned the previous decision of the Shevchenkivskiy District Court of Kyiv, which rejected his complaint to the SBI because it did not open a case against Sodol.
The new resolution obliges the SBI to start an investigation of negligent treatment of military service (Part 2 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) no later than a day after receiving the court’s decision, as this led to serious consequences.
Krotevych’s direct speech: “I was ready to refuse, but I wanted to hear her personally. Are the judges able to tell me that there is no crime in my testimony regarding General Sodol. When I was given the floor, I emphasized that I want to see justice. As of now, the investigation are carried out on almost all brigade commanders, but some military leadership feels impunity for their actions.”

Prehistory:
- The Chief of Staff of the Azov Brigade of the National Guard, Bohdan Krotevych, submitted a statement to the State Bureau of Investigation calling for an investigation into the commander of the United Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the head of the Khortytsia Special Operations Command, Lieutenant General Yuriy Sodol.
- According to the UP, Krotevych accuses the general of exceeding his official powers and incompetent command of the troops, which led to the loss of a large part of the territory of Ukraine, and asks to check the commander for cooperation with the enemy. The chief of staff of “Azov” also expressed his willingness to testify in the case.
- After the statement was made public, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy replaced Sodol with Brigadier General Andrii Hnatov.
- The SBI confirmed to “Ukrainian Pravda” that such a statement had been received, and added that they would check Sodol’s actions.
