– You had an early defeat on Rolan Garros, early defeat here. How do you look at it?
– We went to the court with Gabi (Ruse) and joked how bad this season was in Grand Slam this season for me. And she says, “Oh, I have too.” And I am as follows: “Girl, you played in the finale in Hertogenbos.” And she replies, they say, I already forgot. Therefore, I believe that tennis is always going on, it is weekly, you just have to learn to forget. If you win 5-6 weeks a year, it’s an incredible season.
Everyone loses weekly, of course, that the losing in the first round and in the finale – these are different things. But I think it was a difficult time in my career now, especially after those tournaments in Madrid and Rome. I have to move on with what is there, to work on. Now the American Harde series begins, I have no expectations. But I want to go and play, I do not just want to train.
– Is it easy – not to have expectations? This is not at all like Martha Kostyuk.
– Well, you can’t expect much: I’m not the first racket of the world, I do not have 12,000 points, not semi -final and finals in almost all tournaments. That is, I cannot have such expectations, because it is obviously unrealistic things. I have general expectations, but I did not send them to the results, but on how I work at the court, what work I do daily. That is different expectations.
– What does Sandra tell you in the last days?
– She is not worried, that is, she says that you will not win a single match until the end of your career – no one has happened to anyone. I remember Zhang Shui had a series from 19-20 defeat, and then went qualifying and began to win. Therefore, obviously, even if I won a single match this year, at some stage I will still start winning again. I don’t know … I don’t have answers, but I don’t feel that I should look for them now, I just have to go on.
– How is your well -being today? It seems on the court you looked better.
-It was, firstly, a paired match, I was not alone at the court. And the temperature was not 33 degrees. Today it was easier, yesterday in this special heart it was incredibly difficult, very difficult to heart, especially after the match. I am glad that I won the first match in two months. The mood has improved? Yes (laughs).
– There was no thought when the rivals began to catch up, that the result would be the same as yesterday?
-I think that yesterday I was more catching up … It’s a couple and it is a grass-at any account it is necessary to be concentrated, collected. I tried to do it today, and I was better able to do it than yesterday, but yesterday I felt worse. It was not easy, but I realized that if we continue to play, the rivals did not continue to play with us on an equal footing.
– There will be ambitious goals for a couple?
– We always play a couple of relaxed, we do not have the one that we come and think that we need to win “Slem”. We always play a lot better when we just enjoy, really simply kihphic, just playing tennis without focusing on something specific.
