For the first time in the last 73 days, the Russian military launched a combined missile-drone attack on Kyiv, Serhiy Popko, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, said.

According to him, the Russian forces probably used air-launched cruise missiles, KN-23/KN-24/Iskander-M ballistic missiles, Shahed/Gerany/Gerbera/Parody type drones for the attack.

“The air alert was announced in the capital at half past seven in the morning due to the threat of unmanned aerial vehicles from the east. At this time, the cruise missiles were already heading in the direction of Kyiv region. When the rockets were already entering Kyiv, the enemy simultaneously launched a ballistic attack on the capital. The enemy attack by drones has ended,” he wrote in a telegram.

As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, the Defense Forces destroyed several cruise missiles, several ballistic missiles and up to a dozen drones, information about the destruction or casualties in Kyiv has not yet been received, Popko added.

The air alert in Kyiv lasted more than two hours. Around 9:20, an air alert was again announced in the city due to the threat of using ballistic weapons.

At the beginning of the day on November 13, the Air Force recorded the takeoff of Russian Tu-95MS bombers, and also monitored the movement of Russian drones from the north.

The Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons – attack UAVs, rockets, anti-aircraft missiles, and anti-aircraft missiles.

The leadership of Russia denies that the Russian army during a full-scale war inflicts targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the cities and villages of Ukraine, killing the civilian population and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.

The Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes by the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are purposeful in nature.
