Kislytsia in the UN Security Council: Strengthening Ukraine should be the answer to the Kremlin’s nuclear blackmail

Serhiy Kyslytsia, Ukraine’s ambassador to the UN, told members of the Security Council about Russia’s use of a new ballistic missile designed to carry nuclear weapons to strike the city of Dnipro.”, — write: www.ukrinform.ua

Kyslytsia said this at the meeting of the UN Security Council, reports the correspondent of Ukrinform in New York.

“Moscow’s narratives after the strike, including the comments of the war criminal Putin, once again emphasized Russia’s intentions to convince the world audience of its complete inadequacy – this time by demonstrating its readiness to kill Ukrainians not only by conventional means, but also by nuclear means,” said the ambassador.

Ukraine calls on the UN states, in particular the nuclear states, to condemn “Russia’s irresponsible rattling of nuclear sabers,” he noted.

According to Kislytsia, Putin’s further actions will directly depend on the reaction of the world community.

“If his blackmail is crowned with success, and the opponent shows weakness or willingness to appease, a new and tougher escalation of violence and violations will inevitably follow,” the diplomat explained.

If adequate measures are taken to contain Russia and reduce its aggressive potential, Putin will stop, Kislytsia believes.

“That’s why the answer to the current nuclear blackmail and threats of the Kremlin should be the strengthening of sanctions and an increase in military aid to the side that defends itself, its people and the principles of the UN Charter,” the deputy ambassador emphasized.

He noted that Ukraine does not perceive concerns about the strengthening of Ukraine’s ability to strike military targets on Russian territory as an alleged “escalation.”

“Such a definition either demonstrates a complete misunderstanding of the nature of the conflict and current events on the ground, or serves as manipulation in the interests of the aggressor,” Kyslytsia said.

He said that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, more than 11,500 missiles and 33,000 missiles have been fired. guided air bombs.

Ukrainian NPP substations are among the targets that Russian troops are trying to hit, the diplomat recalled, which poses a “real and immediate threat” to nuclear security for the entire continent.

Instead, Ukraine is striking Russian military command posts, airfields, artillery arsenals, and missile sites, he added.

This should sober up the aggressor state, destroy its plans and force it to a comprehensive, just and lasting peace based on the UN Charter, and not a delusional appeasement reminiscent of Munich in 1938,” Kyslytsia noted.

This can be achieved in two ways: by helping Ukraine and increasing pressure on Russia, he emphasized.

As reported by Ukrinform, on the morning of November 21, Russian troops launched an experimental ballistic missile without a warhead, intended to carry nuclear weapons, over the Dnipro River. On Monday, the UN Security Council discussed, at Ukraine’s request, Russia’s use of a medium-range missile to strike the Dnieper River and the participation of North Korean troops in the war against Ukraine.
