The Kilauea volcano, located on the Hawaiian Islands (USA), is one of the most active volcanoes in the world. He began to erupt again. This is reported by USA Today, writes UNN.

Details

According to the Hawaii Volcano Observatory, there is no immediate danger to residents, as volcanic activity is currently limited to the territory of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The park, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, encompasses the summits of two of the world’s most active volcanoes: Kilauea and Mauna Loa.

But the authorities warn that the immediate threat is volcanic smog, which can reach populated areas with the help of winds.

Smoke from erupting lava contains sulfur dioxide, an irritating, pungent-smelling gas that can worsen symptoms in people with respiratory conditions such as asthma and cardiovascular disease.

The area where the eruption takes place has been closed to visitors since 2007 due to the risk of rock falls and the fragility of the volcano’s crater walls.

We will remind

In the Philippines, a powerful eruption of the Canlaon volcano occurred, which caused the mass evacuation of 87 thousand people. The authorities declared a danger zone within a radius of 6 km and raised the alert level to the third level.
