The authorities of Kharkiv intend to decentralize the energy supply system so as not to depend on other regions. For this purpose, a so-called “energy island” is being created in the city.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said this on the air of a telethon on November 24, the city council cites.
According to him, the city “already has some equipment installed” that will help decentralize the energy system.
“We cooperate with international partners, in particular, manufacturers of such equipment, because it is not manufactured in Ukraine,” said Terekhov, without revealing details.
For the first time, the mayor of Kharkiv announced the need to create an “energy island” in July. Then Terekhov said that block-modular boiler houses, generators and cogeneration plants are being installed all over the city before winter.
We will remind that on November 25 in Kharkiv, during the shelling organized by the Russian aggressors, the center of the city was hit.
In Zaporizhia, over 15,600 subscribers were left without electricity due to a night attack by the Russian “Shakheds” on November 19.
