Earlier in January, the Second Western District Military Court disclosed the data on the losses on the cruiser, admitting that it sank after a Ukrainian missile strike. The commander of the 406th Artillery Brigade of the Navy of Ukraine, Andriy Shubin, was found guilty of destroying the cruiser and was sentenced to life imprisonment in absentia. “Mediazona” published the first complete list of sailors who died on the cruiser “Moskva”. According to the official registers of the Russian Federation, eight people from this list have not yet been formally declared dead.
According to the publication, at least 20 of the dead were conscripts. Most of the dead, 14 people, lived in the occupied Crimea or Sevastopol, three more were conscripted from the Far East of Russia. Exactly how many Crimeans lived on the peninsula before its occupation in 2014 is not specified in the message.
