On Saturday, December 27, at the “Mohammed Abdo Aren” arena in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), the Ring V boxing evening took place, the main event of which was the fight for the title of absolute world champion.

Representatives of the second lightest weight (up to 55.3 kg) met in the ring – the holder of the WBC, WBO, WBA, IBF titles Naoya Inoue (30–0, 27 KOs) from Japan and a Mexican contender Alan David Picasso (32–0–1, 17 KOs).

Inoue spent the first round scouting, not forcing events, keeping an eye on his opponent. However, already in the second 3-minute period, the Japanese “Monster” picked up speed, began to deliver a huge number of blows, smashing the opponent from both close and long range.

Picasso tried to counterattack, but Inoue was excellent on the feet and easily moved out of the line of fire, even when pinned against the ropes. Both combinations and single accented blows continued to fly into the contender’s head.

The champion had no noticeable problems in the ring, having a solid advantage in speed and maneuverability. The Japanese cold-bloodedly smashed the opponent, who was thinking more about defense. Picasso tried to break the situation at the end of the fight, but all his attempts to seriously disturb his opponent were unsuccessful.

According to the results of 12 rounds, the judges recorded a confident victory of the Japanese “Monster”, who defended the title of absolute world champion.
