“Jameela Jamil has broken her silence after labeling Blake Lively a ‘villain’ in explosive unsealed texts amid the star’s ongoing Justin Baldoni lawsuit.”, — write: www.dailymail.co.uk
The 39-year-old British actress had communicated with Baldoni’s publicist Jennifer Abel in August 2024 – a time when he first started facing accusations of ‘difficult’ behavior on the It Ends With Us set.
The Gossip Girl alum filed a lawsuit just months later in December 2024 where she accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and launching a smear campaign against her.
Other messages that came to light this week showed Jamil calling Lively a ‘suicide bomber.’
The Good Place actress jumped to her Instagram stories where she stood by her feminist beliefs while emphasizing that all women don’t need to be friends, per The Hollywood Reporter.
‘Guys, feminism means fighting for the political, social and economic equity of women, for women.’
She added, ‘Just gender equity. It does not mean you have to like every single woman. It doesn’t mean you have to be friends with every single woman.’
Jamil continued to explain that women can still be feminist while not agreeing with each other and women ‘can actually beef with’ each other.
The star further said, ‘You can criticize me, you can do whatever you want as long as you are also fighting for their human right to the same things that men have.’
The activist then expressed in the reel that feminism is both a ‘moral and political stance.’
‘So, if you are fighting for women’s rights but you don’t get along with every single woman, it doesn’t make you a bad feminist.
‘You’re still a feminist. Keep fighting for those rights and thank you for fighting for those rights,’ Jamil concluded.
Daily Mail has reached out to Jamil’s rep for comment, but did not immediately hear back.
It comes not long after her comments featured in a huge collection of unsealed court documents where many private communications involving Baldoni, Lively and their respective teams are being used as evidence amid the lawsuit.
After Lively filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Baldoni over a year ago, he also responded with a $400 million lawsuit against the actress.
The director also filed a $250 million libel claim against the New York Times which reported on Lively’s allegations. The case was later dismissed by a judge in June of last year.
The trial was initially scheduled for March last year – but has since been pushed back to May.
Among the 181 pages of court documents are messages between Jamil and Baldoni’s publicist in August 2024.
The messages also saw both Jamil and Abel poke fun at the backlash Lively faced for her ‘tone-deaf’ promotion of the film, after fans complained she made light of the film’s serious message about domestic violence.
Among the eight pages of messages between Jamil and Abel was an exchange showing the pair reacting to a TikTok video involving Lively.
Abel said: ‘I want to officially incorporate nightmare c**t and demon c**t into my vocabulary; UNBELIEVABLE; She’s doing this to herself.’
Jamil responded: ‘She’s a suicide bomber at this point.’
The pair continued their conversation by discussing allegations of Baldoni’s on-set behavior, as at the time sources had told the Daily Mail the actor was ‘chauvinistic’ and ‘borderline abusive.’
Jamil noted: ‘At least borderline abusive is out there so she can’t go in with predator.’
Hours later, Jamil noted that Lively had shared a link to a domestic violence hotline, as well as statistics relating to abuse in the United States.
At the time Lively was blasted for her ‘tone-deaf’ and ‘shallow’ promotion of It Ends With Us, as she brushed off the film’s serious theme to focus largely on the film’s flowery, romantic elements as well as her own creative involvement.
Jamil wrote: ‘Did you see Blake post that survivors link?; Dead.’
Abel replied: ‘Oh yes, it’s so sick,’ and Jamil added: ‘So cold; Just some stats and a link.’
Abel then jokingly responded ‘I’m thinking about having Justin share it,’ along with a wink emoji.
Jamil replied: ‘Ahahaha no keep him away from her; keep him silence; Keep him in Sweden.
‘I hate her so much,’ Abel replied, before Jamil added: ‘So much; I’ve never seen such a bizarre villain act before; She’s OVER over.’
The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Jameela Jamil, Jennifer Abel and Blake Lively for comment.
The newly unsealed documents also confirmed that Lively had openly discussed the negative ‘shift’ in her friendship with singer Taylor Swift that was brought on by Lively’s sexual harassment lawsuit against Baldoni.
The pair were previously reported to have grown apart, and text messages that appeared in court papers showed the two longtime pals trying to restore their friendship after Swift complained that Lively’s communications with her had started to resemble a ‘mass corporate email.’
The newly released court documents also contain messages Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds allegedly sent Affleck’s best friend Matt Damon and his wife Luciana Barroso, lambasting Baldoni for his ‘enormous ego,’ via Us Weekly.
The documents also feature texts from Lively’s It Ends With Us co-star Jenny Slate, dubbing the film’s production ‘a really gross and disturbing shoot.’
Slate was critical of both Baldoni as well as producer Jamey Heath, questioning their professionalism in multiple communications.
‘It’s like fascinating and also so s*****. Justin and Jamey [Heath] are truly unfit,’ she said.
It comes after Jamil criticized Serena Williams after the tennis icon recently signed on to promote a GLP-1 weight loss drug.
Jamil has previously come under fire for her social media comments, and previously admitted that she was once a troll herself, without even realizing it.
