“We are in a difficult defense and continue to repulse their attacks using all available means. I have no doubt that the enemy’s idea of capturing Kurakhov is a plan for the near future,” Voytenkov said, adding that Ukrainian fighters are standing in the way of the occupier’s plans and are doing everything possible to prevent the enemy from achieving its goal.

Acting the press officer of the 33rd OMBr also emphasized that the enemy has a huge human resource, as well as a lot of equipment and shells. The enemy is trying to advance using forest strips and landings, as well as armored vehicles.

“We use our Leopard tanks, which dismantle enemy dugouts, fortified positions or positions that the enemy managed to occupy. We are also actively using artillery, and the infantry is working to ensure that the occupiers do not succeed in their ambitious plans,” Voytenkov emphasized.

According to him, despite the mandatory evacuation, civilians remain in the city. They communicate with them, convince them of the need to save their lives. Voytenkov reported that there is practically no surviving infrastructure in Kurakhovo, some buildings have already been hit by enemy anti-aircraft missiles more than once. The Russians are destroying the infrastructure, there is no electricity, water, gas, or heating in the city.

“It is hard to imagine what will happen next, but we are doing everything possible to keep Kurakhove in the rear and the enemy does not advance,” Voytenkov stressed.

There are people, says the acting director. press officer who know the points in the city where the light appears at a certain time. They come there and then return to their homes. There is no heating and people block up the windows with the remnants of what they find in the city.

“It’s painful to look at,” said Nazar Voytenkov.

The city authorities and the police are persuading people to evacuate to safer places, but, Voytenkov says, among the locals there are those who are just waiting for the Russians.
