The mass media write that Washington gave its permission for long-range missile attacks on the territory of the Russian Federation. France and Britain allegedly did the same – although the news was later deleted.
And although there is still no official confirmation, this issue has clearly moved from a dead point. UA.News spoke with military expert Oleksandr Kochetkov and learned about his view on this issue.
According to Kochetkov, this US authorization – if it is confirmed – will be primarily directed against the DPRK, not the Russian Federation. Currently, the North Korean troops in the Kursk region are said to be directly participating in the fighting, although they are mostly somewhere on the second line.
“And this permission of America is given, as far as I understand, to the Kursk region and to those locations where North Korean soldiers may appear. That is, it is actually permission to fire missiles at North Korean troops. And it does not spread to other territories in any way,” says Kochetkov.
We asked the expert to comment on the strange situation surrounding France and Great Britain. After all, at first information appeared in the mass media that they also give permission to attack the Russian Federation with their SCALP and Storm Shadow missiles – and then this news was simply deleted.
“Regarding the permission from France and Britain, there is a kind of “fog of war” here. In fact, I have the impression that there is a permit, but it was not necessary to advertise it. And now all these publications realized that they were disclosing information that should not be disclosed. Well, let’s see what the results will really be… At the same time, in France and Britain, there are no restrictions on the use of the territories. And by the way SCALP and Storm Shadow more effective than the same ATACMS. After all, they are more long-range. So American permission is limited to the Kursk region, the front line, let’s say. And the permission, if it will really be implemented, from France and Britain, it is more effective and extends to the entire front line,” Kochetkov believes.
Equally important in this situation is the understanding of what the Russian Federation’s response will be? After all, it is obvious that Moscow will not leave this situation without some reaction.
“As for the enemy’s response to this, we have already seen it. It is literally November 17. These will be massive missile and drone strikes. Although there are rumors that some kind of moratorium on such strikes is being discussed, that consultations are underway. But for now we see for ourselves how it all happens. The enemy is trying to destroy civilization in Ukraine,” the expert is confident.
Summarizing, Oleksandr Kochetkov concluded that the permission of the US to hit the Russian Federation with missiles will not have a fundamental and strategic impact on the course of hostilities. But in this way, it will be possible to get the troops of the DPRK, and this is the most important thing in the context of maintaining our bridgehead in the Kursk region.
