Details: Recently, Russian troops executed even more Ukrainian prisoners of war on the battlefield.

A geolocation video published on December 22 shows Russian troops executing five Ukrainian prisoners of war on the border of Donetsk and Zaporizhia regions in Blagodatny (south of Velika Novosilka).

According to ISW, Russian commanders are either complacent or condone their subordinates’ participation in the execution of prisoners of war, which is a clear violation of international law.

What preceded: ISW in October pointed to an increase in executions of Ukrainian prisoners of war, condoned and encouraged by Russian commanders.

We will remind: Lubinets reported that in 2024, the number of cases of shootings of Ukrainian soldiers by Russians is almost twice as high as in the two previous years of the war combined.
