Defense Minister of Ukraine Rustem Umyerov held a meeting with his Estonian counterpart Hanno Pevkur today in Kyiv.

This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Education and Culture.

The ministers discussed further steps to strengthen our cooperation: investments in the Ukrainian defense industry, additional packages of military aid, contributions to the IT coalition, training of Ukrainian military personnel.

One of the key topics of the meeting was the support of Estonia in the implementation of the Victory Plan of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

“Special attention was paid to the training of our teams. He offered Estonia to participate in their training and equipping, following the example of other partner countries,” Rustem Umyerov said.

The ministers also discussed the possibilities of attracting additional funding for the development of our defense production. Estonian partners emphasized their willingness to invest more and work on speeding up the conclusion of relevant agreements.

Hanno Pevkur shared information about the status of European initiatives in support of Ukraine.

“I am grateful to the EU countries for the progress in providing our Defense Forces with one million shells by the end of the year, as well as for the decision to direct part of the new tranches of aid from frozen Russian assets to the development of Ukrainian defense production,” said Rustem Umyerov.
