The unavailability of some state registries due to a Russian cyberattack negatively affects the ability of banks to open new accounts and issue loans. This was reported by the National Bank of Ukraine in response to a request from the Interfax-Ukraine news agency. “The work of the National Bank was not affected by this cyberattack. All information systems of the National Bank worked and continue to work normally. At the same time, the unavailability of certain state registers in a certain way affects the work of banks, in particular, the opening of new accounts and the granting of new loans,” – noted in NBU The National Bank recalled that at the beginning of the large-scale invasion, the state registers were also unavailable, in connection with which the central bank provided clarifications to the banking system regarding the procedure for opening accounts in such conditions, guided by which the banking system worked until mid-June 2022.
