The police of the Zhytomyr region opened a criminal case over the abuse of a 52-year-old woman by her 10-year-old son, the video of which was published on social networks.
“A 52-year-old mother was abusing her child in the village of Kopyshchi of the Olev community. The incident happened in September 2024. The scenes of violence were recorded on video by a friend of the boy who lives in the neighborhood. In January of this year, he gave the record to a classmate. Later, the video was published on social networks,” the message reads.
The police said that the family is now under the control of social services.
Criminal proceedings have been opened against a woman under part 1 Art. 126 (Beating and assault) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The issue of notifying her of suspicion of a criminal offense is being resolved.

As Ukrinform reported, on January 16, law enforcement officers opened a case over the beating of a 12-year-old girl by a group of teenagers in Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region. The crime was qualified under ch. 1 Art. 127 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – torture.
