In Zaporizhzhia, after the Russian attack on January 8, at least 80 people turned to doctors – such data were announced by the head of the regional military administration on the air of the telethon.

“Four people are in serious condition,” he said. 13 people died.

On January 9, a day of mourning will be announced in the Zaporizhia region, for the third time in a month, Fedorov said.

The State Emergency Service reported that four administrative buildings, 27 cars and a tram were damaged as a result of the Russian strike in Zaporizhzhia.

On the evening of January 8, the Russian army launched two anti-aircraft missile strikes on Zaporizhzhia, the local authorities reported. According to preliminary data, 13 people died, 32 were injured. In total, more than 80 people turned to city hospitals for help. The industrial and other infrastructure of the city was destroyed. Zaporozhye was struck at a time when people were returning home from work, in particular by public transport – minibus taxis and trams, which were moving with passengers along the street near the place of the strike, were damaged by debris.

“The fire in the administrative building on the area of 800 square meters and 3 cars was extinguished. Emergency and rescue operations are ongoing,” the State Emergency Service noted.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi, commenting on the strike, said that Russian troops struck Zaporizhzhia with aerial bombs.

He emphasized that “pressure on Russia for terror” is needed.

The Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons – attack UAVs, rockets, anti-aircraft missiles, and anti-aircraft missiles.

The leadership of Russia denies that the Russian army during a full-scale war inflicts targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the cities and villages of Ukraine, killing the civilian population and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.

Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes committed by the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are targeted.
