In Vinnytsia, law enforcement officers exposed a criminal group that, under the guise of a public organization, obstructed mobilization activities for money and offered “protection” against mobilization for $2,000 per person.

Details: According to the law enforcement officers, the scheme was organized by two local activists who previously belonged to veteran volunteer organizations. Together with three accomplices, they created a new public organization and began to attract participants, promising them “protection” from mobilization.

It is reported that the suspects were disguised as the NGO “Volunteer Battalion named after Ivan Bohun” and presented themselves as public activists who help veterans and people in difficult life circumstances.

Thus, during the mobilization events, “activists” appeared on the spot, interfered with the actions of TCC employees and law enforcement officers, blocked their work, threatened, and in some cases used force. The cost of such “services” was $2,000 per person.

In a month, law enforcement officers recorded at least six such episodes.

It is noted that the members of the group used a ritual car “On the Shield” and an ambulance for cover.

Over time, the organization grew to approximately 300 members, and its leaders began to create branches in the western regions of Ukraine.

Literally: “On January 23, under the procedural guidance of the Vinnytsia Regional Prosecutor’s Office, SBU officers conducted 40 searches of active members of the group. Phones, electronic media, documentation, drafts, cash and vehicles used to hinder mobilization activities were confiscated.

Five people were detained.”

Details: It is reported that they were informed of suspicion for threats and violence against law enforcement officers and obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations.

Prosecutors are preparing a motion to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention without an alternative to bail. The suspects face up to 14 years in prison.
