In Ukraine, they showed the launch of “Long Neptune”: experts made a number of conclusions

The length of “Long Neptune” is more than six meters, which is about 1.5 meters more than the usual P-360.

Frame from the videoAnalysts commented on the video with the launch of “Long Neptune” / frame from the videoPublished on November 14 by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, the first video of the launch of “Long Neptune” reveals the appearance of the new launcher, which has undergone major changes.

The Defense Express military portal analyzed the published footage. It is noted that the video was probably taken on the night of November 14 during the attack on the Russian port city of Novorossiysk. It “reveals the appearance of the new launcher, which has undergone major changes.”

“In itself, the P-360L “Long Neptune” has much larger dimensions than the usual P-360 “Neptune”, so the standard launcher is not suitable for it,” the message says.

So, according to the available data, the length of “Long Neptune” is more than 6 meters (without an accelerator). That is, it is about 1.5 meters longer than the usual P-360. In addition, the thickness of the P-360L in the central part is approximately 50 centimeters instead of 38 cm in the regular version. The wingspan was also increased.

“And that’s why a new launcher was necessary. Because “Long Neptune” has to be placed in new large transport and launch containers. By the way, they have changed their shape and now they are not tube-like, but rectangular,” analysts note.

“Long Neptune” – how the launcher has changedDefense Express also noted that the new launcher uses the Tatra 815-7 chassis with an 8×8 wheel formula. However, it seems that it was slightly lengthened, and some elements behind the cabin were removed, increasing the space for transport and launch containers. The cabin probably remained the same.

“On the video, it is possible to see that there are only two or only one transport-launch container on the launch pad. But this hardly indicates the maximum load, but rather the placement of only charged TPKs,” the message says.

Attack on NovorossiyskAs for Novorossiysk itself being hit by these missiles, a video of the explosion appeared online. OSINT analysts from CyberBoroshno geolocated the location of the damage as a military unit of the 1537th anti-aircraft missile regiment. Probably, the S-400 or S-300 air defense system was hit.

The military portal also reminded that there are currently three versions of the Neptune missile, although Western analysts counted four. The last time they showed “Belly Neptune”, which probably has the designation R-360M.

What precededAs UNIAN reported, Zelensky previously noted the successful use of Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems in the destruction of Russian missiles during the attack that night.

In addition, according to him, this night Ukrainian servicemen successfully used “Long Neptunes” on specified targets on Russian territory. Zelensky emphasized that this is “our completely fair response to the ongoing Russian terror.”
