On the All-Ukrainian Library Day, he called to participate in the restoration of destroyed library funds and to support the project initiated by him “Free people read in Ukrainian!”. Thanks to him, the renovation of libraries and bookshelves, in particular in shelters, in the Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhya, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv and Sumy regions is currently underway.

Cultural and educational institutions devastated by the Russians need artistic, educational, and historical literature, Kremin added.

During the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, the Russian invaders destroyed or damaged almost a thousand libraries, and with them – more than 200 million Ukrainian books, he said.

“Our goal is to renew the library funds as much as possible and to approve it as a state priority,” the language ombudsman emphasized.

He expressed special thanks to those libraries that joined the development of the network of courses on mastering the Ukrainian language.

“By creating better conditions for the development, comprehensive functioning and popularization of the Ukrainian language as the state language, we strengthen our unity and strengthen national security,” the language ombudsman added.
