The petition, which calls for the restriction of printing, distribution and promotion of Russian -language book products in Ukraine, has gained more than 25,000 needed votes. Now the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine should consider it and provide an official response.
The document was published On the Government’s website three months ago and quickly gathered the right support. The author of the petition, Igor Snyatynchuk, noted that she was “a call for the spread of the national idea and protection against cultural expansion by the Russian Federation.”
The petition contains a number of proposals for the Cabinet of Ministers, in particular:

Restriction of printed and electronic publications in Russian up to 0.01% of the total circulation.

A complete ban on the dissemination of Russian -language publications in Ukraine, as well as a ban on the presentation of such products at international book fairs on behalf of Ukraine.

Prohibition on the publication and reissue of the works of Russian authors, as well as authors from Russia’s countries.

Increasing control over the import of Russian -speaking products.

Introduction of administrative liability for violation and expert check of book products for propaganda.
The author emphasizes that the restriction of Russian -language printed products is a “necessary step to win in a hybrid war” that will help protect the cultural space of Ukraine and prevent similar situations in the future
